Happy New Year to you, my dear friends.
Be sure to join LouAnn and my New Year’s Eve party over at On the Homefront and Beyond.
Yes, that is me . . . dancing on the table. Vanessa is in the kitchen singing with her husband. Someone should cut her off. One martini is her limit. LouAnn is, well, cleaning up the broken glass and calling the cops.
Other than this virtual New Year’s party, what are your big plans for tonight? My husband and I will be rockin’ the town, which is code for being asleep on the couch by 10:30.
Hello 2013!

Happy New Year, Robin!!! Cheers!
Same to you!
HAPPY NEW YEAR
Hello Kate! Happy and healthy New Year to you too.
This poem dedicated to the party was written by a dear friend.
Robin and Lou Ann’s
New Years Eve
A festive event
To ring in 2013
Champagne and Poppers
Music and friends
A lively celebration
At midnight may end
With three hours left
On the West Coast
Let’s ring in the New Year
With a bubbly toast
To you my friend Robin
And those not met
With a clink of my glass
I wish you all of the best
Health and Happiness
Prosperity and Cheer
May your 2013
Be a Happy New Year!
Happy New Year to you Robin!
Same to you!
Wishing you the best that life has to offer in 2013, Robin
And I wish you the best in life as well.
Happy New Year!
Hope your head isn’t aching too much
Three cups of coffee and two aspirin took care of my head.
sorry I didn’t make it to Lou anns by the time your party started I was in a pina colada induced coma waking only to find myself crushed between the other half a four year old and two dogs who all wanted to cuddle me
Nothing better than a good cuddle to help a hangover!
It was a great party!
Can you stick around to help clean up the mess?
HAPPY NEW YEAR ROBIN. Your evening sounds similar to mine and that’s a very good thing.
.
Happy New Year to you too! It was pretty quiet around here . . . as I predicted, we were in bed by 10:30.
Happy New Year from Scotland! We’ve had a fabulous Hogmanay! I hope you are partying where you are and looking forward to midnight rolling on through! Hope 2013 is fabulous for you, love! x
What the heck is a Hogmanay? A Scottish celebration? Sounds like a hoot. Happy New Year from California!
Let me get the blackeye peas started – then I’ll be right over…if you miss me in the mayhem – have a Happy New Year!
aren’t those supposed to be for good luck for the new year–bring some over to the party
I thought she meant the Black-eyed Peas, the band. Rats. Oh well. I’ll take god luck food instead.
I tried to get them to come but they said that had a prior date with Ryan Seacrest
Cheeky buggers. This party is where it is happening.
must have for good luck …makes a good dip for those who won’t eat peas! Party on!
dips dips we need more dips–I have lots of crackers though
Forget the dips, we need more cocktails!
Robin-get back up on the table–people like the dips–they absorb the cocktails
Wait. Vanessa promised tassels and a pole. Where the heck is she?
PG Robin – PG–keep those go-go boots on
Too late for that.
oh oh
dips, not drips, right? (plenty of those outside right now)
drips as in rain,or the other kind–either way we don’t want them at the party! Happy New Year!
Ham and potatoes in the oven… I will be there as soon as they are ready!
yum
Could you bring some cranberry chutney to go with the ham?
will do–have some cranberries in my freezer but how do I chutney them?
That is what the Food Network is for.
are you getting snooty with me?
Not me, my sweet. Never snooty with you!
haha I did not think so
I tried to tell them but to no avail
Hi,
I can’t believe I made it, and am not a day late.
Seems like everyone is having a fantastic time, it is going to be a great New Year.
I have a feeling this party will be going for days!
No huge plans. I host the 1:00pm dinner tomorrow, so today was clean (thanks for all the help to my house cleaner) house day and I have to cook tonight and tomorrow. BTW, you are mentioned on my NYD post.
Scott
What are you making so I know what kind of wine to bring? I’m off to check out my mention on your blog.
I am trying to get there. How about I bring diabetic pumpkin pie (no crust) and a bag of Fritos that I won’t eat?
Scott
The post I mentioned you on has now posted. Just FYI.
we just picked out our movie which is too long for me so as my husband just said.. 60minutes of movie time together then snore for me
altough I do have a lovely dinner roasting up, wine…. dessert.. maybe no need for a movie? oh wait the damn kids
Give them $20, the car keys, and send them off to the movies. That buys you a good 2 1/2 hours of alone time. More than enough, right?
laughing.. they are hermits like their parents. It is ok. the night is young…snore.
I thought you were going to say, “2 1/2 hours? That is never enough.”
laughing… um that is way more than enough. hell they could run to the store for milk… and that would be more than enough haaa
Nothing says romance like a quickie!
now I m just plain old flaming blushing red…
I’ve been waiting for the dancing to start!
it started hours ago, Robin is just taking a rest
I’m back! Thanks for the lovely bed to nap in, LouAnn. I feel much better now. Cue up “You Give me Fever.”
you are not getting the flu are you?
Yes. The Wine Flu.
The best kind
Happy New Year, Robin!
I’ll probably be a rockin’ fool all night -well, at least til about 10 or so!
Come on over. We can try to keep each other awake.
You are staying up awfully late–I told you to take a nap in my guest room.
Yes, ma’am. I’m off to rest up for the party.
I’ve almost finished my road trip across the Aussie Outback. What an experience (I’ll never do again!)
I’m catching up on blogs because I’ve been out of touch for nearly a week now – going of to Onthehomefront now
Welcome back, Dianne. I bet you have some grand/horrific stories from your trip! Do tell!
Happy new year, Robin! Enjoy your time
And same to you!
What fun this all is! I don’t usually do much on New Year’s Eve, but I do always stay up to toast the New Year in with a glass of something sparkling and some party poppers!
Happy New Year to y’all.
You can stay up that late? We toast the New Year at 10:00 and calling it good enough. Happy New Year to you. Think of me at midnight all snug in my bed.
I’m rarely asleep before midnight on most nights actually! I usually intend to be asleep earlier but it never quite works out!
How do you keep up that break-neck pace?
I don’t know really, I think you just do when you have kids right?
Exactly.
I’m taking a quick nap before I start putting out the goodies I brought for the party guests. I’ve been virtually cooking all day, so I hope they’re hungry.
I need a little rest (worn out from all that cooking) because I really want to see the ball come down in Times Square. The Times Square thing is my can’t-miss tradition. It won’t be quite the same without Dick Clark
but it should still be fun.
Have a wonderful 2013.
Oh yes. How sad Dick Clark isn’t with us anymore. I feel like I grew up with him . . . I always babysat on New Years (I was a loser) (guess I still am) and watched the ball drop every year with Mr. Clark.
Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do.
Well, that leaves things wide-open, doesn’t it?
Sadly, probably not. I’m dull.
Happy new year to you too! I’m sick and tired of going to bed past midnight every day because I run out of time, so one of my intentions for 2013 is to go to bed earlier, which I hope to start tonight. So, nope, I won’t be celebrating the change of year at midnight and that will be a good thing!
All jokes aside, I can’t stay awake past 10:30 anymore. A girl needs her beauty rest. Or, at least this girl does. Hmmmm . . . doesn’t seem to be helping.
Haha, thanks for the laugh! I can’t stand up past that time but I always do because there’s stuff left undone. I’m serious about reshuffling my schedule to fit things in better.
Sounds like a New Year’s resolution to me!
I just hopped over to the party at Homefront and rocked away to Vanessa’s tune. The girl can sing!
Fun idea, Robin. I don’t know that I’ll be partying much tonight (nursing strep throat), but I’ll certainly have one cocktail to celebrate the new year. See you in 2013!
So sorry to hear about your sore throat. May I recommend warm brandy laced with honey. It will cure it, or knock you out so you don’t feel the pain!
Thanks for stopping by the party. Vanessa is a doll and her husband a good sport!
I’ll be experimenting with Sparklers in freezing temperature. Have fun dancing!
Oooh . . . sparklers! Excellent idea. I’m off to buy some for the party now. Happy New Year!
