What a lovely way to start my weekend. Pete Denton nominated me for The Versatile Blogger Award. I am honored and flattered. Thank you Pete!
Blogging can sometimes feel like you are writing in a vacuum so it is nice to know there are people out there reading it and affirmation is always good for one’s spirits.
The rules of accepting the nomination are as follows:
- Thank the person who nominated me. Done.
- Include a link to his/her blog. Done.
- Nominate fifteen blogs I enjoy and follow. See below.
- Lastly, tell you seven things about myself. Yikes. I hope I can come up with seven interesting things to say. You be the judge by reading on.
Seven things about me you ask?
- I cried when I typed the last word in my novel In Search of Beef Stroganoff. Not sure why.
- I’ve been married for thirty years and have three beautiful daughters.
- Feeding people feeds my soul. Hence, food is a central theme in my book.
- I love to travel and would hop on the next plane if you handed me the ticket. Especially if it is a ticket to Paris.
- I hate people who are cheap with their time and their money.
- I will look up a word in the dictionary with the least provocation.
- I love The Beatles.
And now it is my honor to nominate other bloggers. Check them out by clicking on their links.

Congratulations, and thanks for including my blog on your list of nominees! Also, I can understand crying when you typed the last word of your novel. I remember it being a pretty great feeling when I typed the last word on mine. Shame I then decided to go through about eight full redrafts, so I’ve typed last words on that book a lot of times now!
I’ve done the same thing!
Congratulations, Robin! Much deserved. 🙂
And thank you for selecting my blog as one of your 15.
Cheers! And keep up the good work.
Thanks so much Angela!

What a fine list of candidates to read on a rainy Sunday in Seattle. I would add http://dailyplateofcrazy.com/ for your reading pleasure. Do you sometimes wish your first name had been spelled Robyn? Be well Robin.
It is funny you should ask that. When I was around 12-years-old I decided to change the spelling of my name to Robyn. I’m dating myself here but there was a winning female jockey named Robyn Smith. I was into horses so I assumed her name. I grew out of horses and the “Y” spelling.
I’ll check out your blog and thanks for following me!
Congrats, Robin – and thank you for nominating me! I have some ideas for passing it on, meanwhile here’s the post I did when I was nominated a while ago – http://nailyournovel.wordpress.com/2010/06/24/seven-things/

You are welcome. Happy to hear you were nominated before. Kind of fun, heh?
Congrats on the award.
Thanks Jackie! A first for me.
Thank you for accepting the award. There are some good blogs on that list 😉 I’ll check them out later. Keep up the good work!
I love how these awards promote connections with other bloggers.
Congratulations on the award, Robin! You have a lovely blog here, and I’m so glad Pete nominated you! 🙂
Thanks Aly – It is pretty cool how this works to network with other bloggers and find really good information out there. I’m glad Pete connected us!
