I ran across this quote the other day and had to share. The Internet was speaking directly to me when it put Mr. Brown in my path. I had been grumbling (read whining) that there isn’t enough time in the day to get everything done.
“Don’t say you don’t have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Louis Pasteur, Michelangelo, Da Vinci, and Albert Einstein.” ~H. Jackson Brown
Makes you think, doesn’t it? Just so you know . . . I stopped whining because it was wasting too much time.
However, if anyone has connections and can get me just one eight-day week……………..lol
Russel! You are back! Unfortunately, I am not. My dad is now in a nursing home and I am taking my third turn at dad-sitting. The past 5 weeks have been awful. Simply awful. If you find a eight-day week, let me know.
My thoughts are with you, as are your other WordPress friends, I’m sure.
That is nice Russel. Thank you.
Yes, I heard that quote recently too, can’t remember where though. It sounds good at first, but I’m not sure it stands up to scrutiny, I mean, those guys could probably just get up and focus solely on their thing. Did they have to do the million and other things that we all have to fit in? I don’t think so. I’m fairly certain that I could have painted the Sistene Chapel, or discovered the theory of relativity if I didn’t have to spend so long making packed lunches, helping with homework, ironing, going to a full time job, cooking, cleaning, chauffeuring kids all over the place, gardening, folding laundry, blah, blah, blah, moan, moan, moan…
Oops, just realised, where I said those guys could get up and “focus solely on their thing”, that could sound a bit dodgy! I didn’t mean THAT thing, I meant, well I’m sure you knew what I meant, but it’s just with them being men and…oh dear.
Best on-line stammering ever! You made me laugh Vanessa!
I’ll never complain again. I’ve have to send this one to my oldest sons.
Because…………?
They’re at university, running here there and everywhere.Always late, always looking for more hours to do that essay or what have you. They will roll their eyes when I text them this.
LOVE the eye roll, harrumph and disgruntled shrug while “the mom” offers sage advice.
That quote is absolutely brilliant. Though, in our defence, they didn’t have the distractions of the internet and facebook… 😉
Ha ha! You are so right. It would be kind of fun to follow Michelangelo on Twitter tho!
I tried to reply earlier today but didn’t have time… joking – my internet connection died. Good (topical) post – we had been discussing this in our household. I’m busier than ever but am getting lots done with the correspondent sense of accomplishment which is nice… but I’m so tired by the end of the day.
Ha! That made me laugh. Isn’t it weird that we have all this new-fangled technology at our disposal to help us be more efficient but all it has done is given us the ability to put MORE on our plate?
Loved the quote. I whine sometimes too but not as much as I used to when I was younger. Although, if I were to be TRUTHful, I so that thing about the time too. Is that called whining? Oh.
Whine away! You are safe with me.
Great quote. I will never moan again. OK I will but quietly 🙂
Don’t tell anyone but I lied when I said I wouldn’t whine any more. Shhhhh……it is a secret.
🙂
