Hello folks! Miss me?
After a lovely visit with family and Mother’s Day in Boise with our youngest daughter, I am back to the world-o’blog.
I have been away from blogging at a most fortunate time. The craziness at WordPress has caused perfectly sane bloggers to tear out all their hair. Let’s see a show of hands.
In case you are wondering, I am now bald.
I can’t wait to get back to writing about stuff other than the WordPress problems and I promise to do so soon.
Before I return to normal posting and have grown a full head of hair again, I have one request for you.
WordPress and Askimet think I am “Spam I Am” and unless you have “not spammed” me, I am hurled straight to your spam folder.
Sigh. So many pithy comments lost in Never Never Land. I am reading your posts, I promise. I am commenting on your posts, I promise. Askimet tech support tells me they are investigating my problem.
Please check your spam and un-spam me. I will forever be in your debt.
Welcome back! Glad to hear you had a good time away–some time for your hair to grow back, perchance? 😉
I think you’re good to go on my blog. I have been religious with checking my spam folder for genuine comments. There are a couple of my readers who are always relegated there, no matter how many times I unspam them.
Thank you J. C. and it is good to be back. My head is covered in stubby tufts of hair and I am forced to wear a hat but since my problem seems to be resolved, my hair continues to grow back.
My new problem is perfectly nice commenters on MY blog are now flying into spam. Weird, weird, weird.
Welcome back!
Thanks! It is good to be back, but frustrating!
I believe it.
Funny I saw this, I just found you there a little bit ago. Hmm you Definatly must love the basement. 😀
I feel like a banished child.
at least we found you hiding out in the basement 😀
Your comment popped right up on last nights post. Welcome back! You don’t belong in that folder with all those people wanting to optimize and monetize my blog.
Yeah!~ That is good to hear.
I de-spammed you a while ago and it hasn’t happened since 🙂
Ditto.
Roly!!!! Why does it say your blog is no longer available when I click on the link in the email about your latest post? Oh no!
I did drag you feet first out of my spam can. Dusted you off and sprays room freshener.
I feel so dirty.
It’s a horrible place to be, I can’t blame you.
Hi,
Yes I rescued you from spam at my blog, your fist comment came through no problems, but the second in spam, (shaking head) I always check if I have spam now as there are a couple of people that are ending up in the spam box. It is amazing these never ending problems we are all having with WP, it is driving a lot of us nuts.
It is so random. One minute I am spam and the next I am not. Askimet just emailed me to tell me they are not the culprit. Hmmmm…..
The same thing happened to me a little while ago. If you contact support, they can fix it. 🙂 Meanwhile, I’ll yank you out of my spam folder when I comb through it later tonight.
Askimet claims it isn’t their fault I am labeled as spam. Now what?
You’re out of JAIL for the MOMENT. Enjoy the air, lady. LOL
Breathe deep, the gathering gloom.
Yep, it’s SPAM not HAM. Hopefully, they will believe ME. Otherwise, I will keep checking. I had two comments from you. Will go directly to respond so you can see. Will keep eye out from now on. Funny, no-one else was in spam jail except you and something MAYBE from WordPress. I just sent out a post with copied “message”.
Can we rest soon? The weekend is coming.
I seem to be able to get through as long as the blogger has “not spammed” my comment. Thanks for your moral support here!
Glad you’re back! You are not spam on my blog any longer, which I am very glad about. I don’t know why WP is flaking out like this, but it seems that there are many issues lately.
It is nice to be back. Just heard from Askimet tech support that they are not the problem. Now what, I ask. Now what? Whine, whine, whine.
I will be on the lookout for you in my spam folder. Just the words every blogger wants to hear, right?
Thanks for keeping an eye out for me. I like having my back covered.
Oh, that sounds awful and annoying. I suffered from WP-inspired baldness when they flagged my blog as spam and deactivated it. They reactivated it once they realized their mistake, but really, what will they think of next to torture us bloggers?
Oh wow. That sounds terrible. How were you able to fix it? Could you “talk” to a real person?
I sent two emails, but there was no avenue available to talk to someone. Fortunately, they fixed it rather quickly, but while it was out I could not access any of my writing. It was not a happy day.
What a pain. Did you panic?
My husband will attest to the fact that I cried. I really had no idea what would happen, and I thought about all of my hours of writing possibly going down the toilet. I was also upset, b/c like you, I’m the least “spammy” blog out there. However, I did get a post out of the whole experience.
I’ve cried over these issues too. Silly, right? But when so much blood, sweat, and tears go into something and you are POOF, cyber-trash, it hurts. Especially when you are nice girls like we are.
What’s really humiliating is that they put up a message where your blog should be that states that you have been shut down because you have “violated the terms of service.” So you’re branded cyber-trash. Your problem sounds really annoying since it’s not really going away.
Well I think you are a “nice” girl and not one of the ones that are “easy” and hang out in the high school parking lot.
What a pain this has been. This is especially so since my blog WAS gaining momentum. Thank you for un-spamming me and being a diligent follower. What would I do without you!?
Your coments have been ok with me, but on your behalf…I do not like green eggs and spam I do not like them sam I am.
It is hit and miss for sure. I will comment on the same blog (JM McDowell’s for example) and one comment will go through, and the next lands in spam. I do not like green eggs and spam either. Egg on Askimet’s face!
Sigh. I have REPEATEDLY marked your comments as NOT SPAM when they end up in my spam queue! And I follow that up with “approve comment.”
A few, so very few, come through to the posts you comment on. But most, oh definitely most, continue to go to spam. 😦
Please, Akismet, please. Please fix this problem. I know Robin isn’t the only one suffering this undeserved fate!
Ok, new weird thing. I posted this reply comment (below) to your comment and it ended up in the general queue.

Maybe I have a clue? I opened your post the first time through my email notification AND now this second time I opened the full post from the “orange notification button” (I didn’t just hit reply).
Both times my McAfee software came up saying “risky connection blocked” with a specific IP Address. Is there possibly a connection?
Hmm…Maybe I need to contact McAfee too. Argh. If I wasn’t afraid of being permanently block from WordPress, I would use a dozen swear words right now.
P.S. I’ve been meaning to ask you where your profile picture was taken.
Last October’s vacation to San Francisco and Napa. It’s one of the historic ships set up a a museum in the Bay.
I wonder if some weird code got into your blog that triggers spam filters and protection programs….
I live in Sacramento and know exactly the historic ship you were on. I had a feeling . . .
Are you from California?
Nope, from mostly landlocked Illinois. 🙂 But my husband and I have taken a number of trips to CA. A bit longer flight now from MD. 🙂
Come for a visit any time. We have lots to talk about.
🙂
