That’s a great clip 🙂 I feel you are a bit like the big writing-dog on the stairs showing us writing pups how to do it without falling on our noses:) I also liked the cat clip in the comments 😀
Adorable video. My dog was asleep in the bedroom next to the office and heard the puppy cry. She came out growling and barking, and sat on my lap for the rest of the video watching. hahaha Now her walking partner and mine are here, so more noise! 🙂
My dog William started to whine when he heard the puppy whine. He ears perked up and he looked anxious. He was troubled that the puppy was scared I guess. I could barely hear it until I really listened.
Most of the time hearing something on the internet or TV doesn’t bother my dog, but this did, and once when she heard a baby whale in trouble, she was VERY upset. It’s amazing that they catch the “I’m in trouble.” communication in other animals.
I love the video so much I had to share. I promise to not rely on cute kitten and puppy videos in my lame attempt to entertain you. Unless I run out of entertaining material, which is likely.
Cats say, “I’ll help you”? None of the cats I’ve met have said that. I think they mostly say, “Go figure it out on your own while I take a nap in the sun.”
Resorting to cute puppy videos? I beg to differ. I think by publishing this post you & your blog have reached the pinnacle of success. After this, there is nowhere else to go, but down! Like the puppy on the stairs.
I’m more of a cat person – but this is cute!!! No way my cats would have the patience to wait for a kitty to learn to go down the stairs. Then again, when my cats were kitties they ran up and down the stairs so fast it sounded like thunder! Kind of scary 🙂 Cute puppy!
Year ago I had a kitten who was the cutest thing EVER. Until the middle of the night. Then she ran through my apartment like a cat possessed and wanted to play! She was the last cat I owned.
I get a bit overloaded with cute videos of cats and dogs because my son loves them and is always showing me them! But I did watch this anyway, how adorable to see an animal as a teacher! Not sure why she tried to eat the puppy at the end though, thankfully they stopped recording before it got too gory…
Don’t hate them or anything, just rather have a cat.
Dogs have more maintenance and need looking after.
I don’t have to take my cat outside to pee. lol
OMG, OMG, OMG! Freakin’ cute is an understatement. It reminded me of when my first dog, my soul mate dog, first learned stairs. We didn’t have any in Florida. He’d never seen them until he was a year old when we took him on a drive to see my family in Chicago. We stopped at a hotel and got a room on the second floor. He had no clue how to use the stairs. After a couple days at my mom’s house (with stairs), he was racing us up and down them. Thanks for starting us our weekend with a smile.
I about died when I watched this video. Cutest thing EV-ER.
Was your first dog who didn’t know who to do the stairs Piezon? Or was it Piazano? I’ll never forget crying over your post about his death. It brought me to my knees.
Yes, it was Piezon. We spelled it phonetically since no one where I live could pronounce Paisano. You must’ve read my memorial page about him. Thank you so much for reading it. It makes me feel like I’m keeping his memory alive.
How cute, thanks for sharing! I remember the time my old cat discovered stairs for the first time. I lived in a one-story apartment, so no stairs, and it took him a little while to figure out what he was supposed to do with stairs! It seems that babies seem to figure out how to go up and down a lot faster, especially when you don’t want them to.
OMG! I forgot about that. Babies scoot up the stairs like a rocket and then threaten to crash land on their descent because they aren’t quite sure how to do it. Nerve-wracking!
I noticed how she really wanted to encourage him/her along by almost grabbing the scruff of the neck and then she’d back up and wait again, still hovering, so true to life isn’t it, Robin? Good to be here!
I’ll let you in on a secret. I’ve probably watched that video a dozen times. It doesn’t tire. I think if someone is feeling blue, their doctor should say, “Here. Watch this. You will feel better.” I’m not feeling blue, but I feel better every time I watch it!
I just love it — it shows such a lovely side of those lovable creatures –and I agree with you it is a sure fire remedy for the blues — and I must confess–I did watch it over and over

How sweet it that? I wish humans were more in tune with the “I’m in trouble” vibe.

So, you didn’t couple it with the “cat parenting” video? I think you should, so you can show the difference between cats and dogs. 😮

Ha! A perfect pairing. Sweet puppy video. Devious cat video. Perfect.

OK, Jilanne, that one made me “whoop” with laughter.

I think the thing at the end was a celebratory dog pile, like they do when a point is scored in a soccer, er, I mean football game.

SO CUTE! I finally watched it after the ad that I saw I could ‘skip’ when it was just about finished! 😉

The ads are annoying! I love it when you can skip it in like 5 seconds. You are forced to watch some ads all the way to the end.
